The food contains 17% crude protein and 4.5% crude fat; the manufacturer's figure for beneficial fibre is 36%. Wheat and grass meal form the base, and the prebiotic FOS supports digestion. Added vitamin C is 1,050 mg per kg. That matters, because a guinea pig cannot make its own vitamin C and needs it from food every day. Every nugget has the same composition, so a picky guinea pig cannot pick out the best bits and leave the vitamins in the bowl.
The nuggets are a complementary food: hay remains the main food, 85 to 90% of the daily diet, and the nuggets are a small extra portion. The exact daily amount is on the pack. Switch to the new food over 14 to 28 days.

Feeding guide
Hay or fresh grass should make up 85 to 90% of a guinea pig's daily diet. Feed the nuggets as a small portion once a day and add a handful of fresh greens. Fresh drinking water must be available at all times. Switch to the new food over 14 to 28 days by gradually mixing it into the current food. The exact daily amount is printed on the pack.
