If your hamster does its business in one fixed corner of the cage, that corner is the first to smell and needs cleaning more often. A toilet gives the habit a place of its own; keep in mind that not every hamster starts using a toilet straight away.

The Duvo+ hamster toilet set contains a plastic toilet, a scoop and toilet sand. The sand absorbs urine and odour, so the rest of the bedding stays dry for longer. Before buying, check the dimensions to see whether your hamster fits inside.

Use is simple: place the toilet in the corner your hamster already uses, scoop out droppings every day and change the sand about once a week. Wash the toilet with mild soap.

4 Käppa tip: watch your hamster's habits for a couple of weeks and place the toilet where it already goes; getting used to it takes time. If you want help, ask us for advice.

Add the set to your basket and give your clever little pet a bathroom of its own.
