If your dog enjoys chewing cod skin sticks, the bigger pack makes sense. Island of Pets cod skin sticks are a chew treat for dogs, made from 100% cod skin by a company on the island of Saaremaa.

The sticks are handmade and air-dried for over a week at below 30 °C; there is nothing in them but cod skin. Dried skin is firm, so the dog has to chew it and cannot swallow it in a couple of bites. According to the manufacturer, chewing helps clean the teeth and massage the gums. The pack holds 250 g, and because they are handmade the sticks vary in length.

Give the sticks alongside a complete food, not instead of it. Treats should give no more than 10% of daily energy. Reduce the main food by that amount.

4 Käppa advice: choose the stick by the size of the dog and the way it chews, and watch the dog for the whole time it chews. Remove any small leftover piece that the dog could swallow whole. Always provide fresh drinking water. Keep the pack closed in a dry place, because fish oil can stain textiles.

Order Island of Pets cod skin sticks in the 250 g pack.
