If your dog wants to chew but a big chew bone is not right for it, try a smaller roll. Island of Pets cod skin rolls are a chew treat for all dogs and for large cats (for example Maine Coons), made from 100% cod skin on the island of Saaremaa.

Each roll is rolled by hand and air-dried for over a week at below 30 °C. Cod skin contains 76.99% crude protein and 2.73% crude fat, with 333 kcal per 100 g. According to the manufacturer, chewing helps clean the teeth and massage the gums, and the roll also suits puppies and older dogs. The manufacturer recommends up to 2 rolls per day. The pack holds 100 g.

Treats should give no more than 10% of daily energy. Reduce the main food by that amount. Because they are handmade, the rolls vary in length and thickness.

4 Käppa advice: watch your pet for the whole time it chews and remove any small leftover piece that it could swallow whole. If a roll breaks into a sharp piece, take it away. Always provide fresh drinking water and keep the pack closed in a dry place, because fish oil can stain textiles.
